Obituary

Edwin Sidney Brown, 89, beloved husband of Muriel, nee Zimmerman, for 63 years; loving father of Michael “Buzzy” (Amy) Brown and Penny Gilbert; cherished grandfather of Brett (Laura) Gilbert, Brandon Gilbert, Justin (Deanna) Gilbert, Dyan (Matthew) Weil and Paul (Lauren) Brown and great grandfather of four; devoted son of the late Rinard and Jennie Brown and son-in-law of the late Dave and Pearl Schaffel; dear brother of the late Loraine (Joseph) Silins; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. Edwin was a proud World War II veteran. He served in the United States Air Force as a pilot in the 86th Fighter Bomber Group, 527th Squadron. Edwin had a passion for life and his greatest joy was his family. Chapel service Wednesday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. We had a “club” while in von Steuben. I was fortunate to be included along with Sid.

What a splendid boy. Quiet. Unassuming. HANDSOME! Bright. Athletic.

My condolences to his Family. I know that he enriched the world.
